Morley's Final Catalogue: A good deal commoner and broader distributed than was supposed in 1890. Sudbury, Copdock, Belstead, Bentley, Ipswich, Freston, a few at Waldringfield, Brandeston, Stowmarket. Tuddenham (Sparke). Beccles (Crf); Barnby Broad, rare in mid-August 1898 (Mly); Fritton 1935.

Recent Suffolk Status: Common across the county.

Life history: Single brooded in the summer.

Identification: Unmistakeable.

Habitat: Woodland, wooded gardens, wooded heathland, scrub areas.

Recorded in 50 (86%) of 58 10k Squares.
First Recorded in 1898.
Last Recorded in 2023.
